How the process works: We process and deliver devices to the hospitals in plastic wallets. Inside each wallet is a kindle fire, headphones and charger. Each device is numbered so hospitals can keep track.

Infection control: The devices are wipe-clean. So far hospitals have suggested they do their own infection control once the devices have been delivered. We couldn’t guarantee they are cleaned to hospital standard upon arrival. The headphones are intended for single-use because they’re often fiddly to clean.

We leave it up to the hospitals to allocate devices to patients. They don’t need to be only for people suffering from Covid, they’re intended for anyone who is spending long periods of time in hospital, away from visitors.
